Imagine this: turquoise waves crashing on a rugged shore, desert trails screaming for a spin, and a trusty mountain bike ready to roll. That’s the scene at CYCLOPATH Camp For nomads and backpacking travelers in Dahab, where 36-year-old Sander, our latest guest and windfoiling rockstar, dove into an unforgettable 8-day adventure in our Bike Room. Buckle up—here’s the lowdown on his wild ride, packed with pedals, thrills, and South Sinai’s signature magic.

So, what did Sander’s 8-day Dahab takeover look like? By day, Sander was owning the windfoiling school, learning to ride the Red Sea’s breezy waves like a pro. But when he wasn’t slicing through the water, he was hopping on a Trek Marlin mountain bike to conquer South Sinai’s stunning trails. We hit the ground rolling, pedaling through Dahab’s coastal paths with jaw-dropping views. The highlight? A ride to the iconic Blue Hole, where the sea plunges into a vibrant, coral-packed abyss. With desert wind in our hair and palm-fringed lagoons flashing by, Sander soaked in the kind of scenery that makes your phone’s camera jealous.

The fun didn’t stop when the sun dipped low. One night, we traded our bikes for the car and set off for a starry hike up Mt. Sinai. Scaling the mountain in the crisp desert night, we reached the summit within two hours. Sander sat in silence, contemplating the Milky Way for the first time in his life, while I took the opportunity to question my own life choices and wisdom. We enjoyed some enlightening hot tea as the cold weather began to freeze us, and we had a long chat about celestial beings and the dull-witted satellite action in the sky. In a scene best described, to quote myself while amused by Elon Musk’s orbital physics, as a “cosmic orgy,” we waited two hours ahead of sunrise, which turned the peaks into a golden masterpiece. Sander called it “amazing,” but trust me, that’s selling it short. There’s nothing like catching your breath on that sacred peak, feeling as if you’ve hiked into a dream.

The day before his last we set course towards The Caves, South of Dahab. However, the heat was extremely intense and the highway was unbearable at times. We did not reach our final destination but still, it was an impeccable journey and I really enjoyed that day too with Sander. He humbled me with his work rate during his stay, at the first couple of days maybe he was shy but as soon as he found his rhythm he became an inspiration and he was always smiling, missing this man already! 🩵🌄

Back at Cyclopath Camp, Sander found the sweet spot between adrenaline and chill. The Bike Room’s quiet vibe meant he could recharge under Dahab’s starry skies, lulled by the sound of waves. Hammocks, fire-pit chats, and that laid-back Cyclopath spirit? It’s the perfect recipe for adventure-hungry souls like Sander. As he put it, this wasn’t just a stay—it was “an experience and a true connection.”

Sander’s review says it all: “Highly recommended for those travellers looking for an experience rather than just a room.” That’s the Cyclopath way—less about checking in, more about diving into Dahab’s soul. From heart-pounding rides to soul-stirring hikes, Sander’s 8 days were a love letter to adventure, written in sea spray and desert dust.
